Hand-made papier-mâché Venetian Carnevale mask with feathers.
Please note: Mask is NON-RETURNABLE due to health reasons.
The profession of mask making was founded in Venice, Italy in April 1436 by the Masters of the Painters Guild.
Today, as in 1436, Venetian artists press papier-mache into molds and coat the mask with plaster.  Then they apply a second layer of papier-mache, line the back of the mask with gauze and place it in an oven to stiffen it.  Finally they trim the edges and hand paint the result.
